What Causes Pain In Lower Pelvic Area?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: Hello. I have recently started having pain in my uterus, kind of like cramps but feels more like pressure. Along with this, I have itching in the vagina, and feel like I have to urinate even right after I already have. I'm also having some slight spotting in between periods, but this has been normal for me ever since I was a teenager.

Brief Answer:
Get internal examination. Vaginal swabs and urine culture

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
I noted your concerns. Are you sexually active? Along with itching, do you also have vaginal discharge?
Do you have this feeling of cramps every day or do you have it just before mensus? If you are having this feeling everyday it is could be due of pelvic infection. Since you have this slight spotting between periods ever since you were a teenager it probably is due to ovulation. You need not worry about it.
Are you regular with your smears?
Your urinary complaints are suggestive of urinary tract infection.
I advise you to see your Gynecologist/ family physician. You need to get an internal examination done and vaginal swabs taken to identify the reason for itching/ infection. You need to get a urine culture sensitivity test done. Based on the examination and results of investigation treatment can be planned.
I hope I have answered your concerns. If you have any other concerns do write to me through Healthcare Magic.

I am married so yes I am sexually active and I do get regular smears. Now I have blood in the urine and more pain than itching.
No discharge and right now the cramping pain is constant but usually don't cramp at all before my cycle

Brief Answer:
Get a urine culture sensitivity test done at the earliest.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

Now it is clear (blood in urine) that you have urinary tract infection. Sometimes blood in urine can be due kidney stones. The cramping pain is referred pain.

Please get a urine culture sensitivity test done at the earliest, so that treatment can be started soon. If the urine culture sensitivity test does not show any organisms, then you need to see urologist to be evaluated for kidney stones.
I hope this helps.
