What Causes Pain In Lower Right Side Of Chest?

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Oct 2015
Question: Hi

I have noticed a pain to develop on my lower right pectorial area closer to the center of my chest. It seams to be there around after lunch whee it is more noticable. I do wear a half mask at work considering the environment as I work at a coal plant that makes electricity.
I havent had alcohol in a long time now mybe 2 months and I excercise as well. I think my diet is fair. I try to eat healthy but I have my fair share of fast food too.

Would you be able to give me any idea?

Brief Answer:
More likely mechanical problem, exclude gastritis, worth trying analgesics

Detailed Answer:
hi and thanks for the query

I understand how this could be especially when one has a purely healthy lifestyle.

I really do not think you need to bother much. however, a few questions answered might guide our reasoning. did this start gradually or abruptly? have you ever been having chronic chest pain? did you change your job routine within the last two months (job site and job intensity). any special stressful conditions lately?

do you experience the pain immediately after eating or an hour or so after eating ? any history of pain when you press on your chest?

I do suggest you see for Gp for examination.

I would suggest you take first some simple analgesics like Acetaminophen and a drug that reduces gastric acid secretion like omeprazole for a couple of days . in case persists you see your Dr for a chest x Ray and other adapted tests.

for now nothing to serious to worry about. please do send any follow-up questions you have.I will be glad making my humble contributions to your welbeing.
