Might be rheumatoid arthritis; other options to be ruled out
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query in Healthcaremagic.com.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.
I understand your concern.
From your description of your migrating joint pain, it is quite indicative of rheumatoid arthritis, but some other conditions might present with similar features.
You need a proper and detailed clinical examination with some investigations to confirm your diagnosis. Treatment will follow accordingly.
Get a blood test done for complete blood count, CRP, ESR, RA factor, Fasting and post prandial blood sugar, uric acid, ASO titre.
Consultation with an orthopedician or rheumatologist is suggested if possible or if you can find someone in your rural area. Otherwise, your physician should be consulted with the reports.
Take mild to moderate painkillers like aceclofenac, diclofenac or ibuprofen for pain control. Hot dry compression locally might be helpful. Xray of hip, cervical spine and lumbosacral spine may have to be done in correlation with clinical findings.
Get back to me with the reports or consult a doctor as suggested.
Hope I have answered your question.
If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Regards.
