What Causes Pain In Right Hand, Excessive Sweating And Fatigue?
Question: my mom, 60 yrs old. has been experiencing excessive sweating and fatigue. and also lost her appetite. she currently take 125 mg thyroid tablets. she was also diagnosed with Potts syndrome a year back and has been recovering well. she is on medication on that as well.
she also said her right hand aches /pains. is it something to worry about ?

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your questions and understand your concerns.
Please check her thyroid function to see if she is adequately treated with thyroxine. If her thyroid function is normal then you should look for other causes. The symptoms you told are not specific for any disease.
The possibilities to consider are:
1. Diabetes, Hypertension or high cholesterol - check the blood for sugar and kioid profile
2. Vitamin deficiency - vitamin D or B12 deficiency.
3. Anemia - low hemoglobin
4. Low Cortisol level in body - may sometimes be associated with hypothyroidism- check a morning fasting Cortisol value and serum electrolytes
4. Post menopausal syndrome - usually start immediately after menopause. But if all the above reports are negative one should consider post menopausal syndrome. Will improve with hormone replacement therapy.
