What Causes Pain In Right Side Of Groin Area?

Question: I am a 6 foot 2 190 pound relatively healthy 48 year old male. For the last week or so I've been getting a sharp pain in my right side groin when i'm walking or getting up. Its very random, but lasts for 3 to 5 minutes and I just try to move it slowly with the pain jabbing. I cant hardly walk or move until it just sort od works itself out. Then Its gone without a trace. No visible lumps or stomache pain or anything what so ever associated with it. Its just really weird.

How does this occur? Would I not have noticed these symptoms as soon as I picked up something heavy or something like that. How dangerous is this as I have no insurance. Is there anything I can do to not aggravate the problem until I can figure out a solution.
