What Causes Pain In Shoulder While Breathing?
Question: I have had a pain in my right shoulder area in the middle when breathing in and bending my head forward and stretching forward

I have had this pain about 3 months, no pain in abdomen it is like a burning pain quite sore. It goes from the right shoulder to the middle of my shoulder blades and into my neck. I have seen the dr twice with naproxen and inflammatory gel

In the absence of more information,In My Opinion, I would suggest to do as follows with My expertise and experience-Please update more query if need be after this-
Consult Surgeon / Chest Surgeon / Vascular Surgeon - who would be able to fix the exact cause of such a pain in your case.
Get CT Study / Cervical X-ray - for Cervical Extra Rib / and extra long Cervical Transverse process.
USG and Color Doppler study- of the Subclavian and axillary vessels also is needed.
EMG and nerve conduction study of the brachial plexus and shoulder and neck Muscles would give you the right lead to fix the cause of such a shoulder pain.
Cause of shoulder burning pain-
Its mostly from TOS-N(Thorasic Outlet Syndrome-Neurogenic) with Scalene Anticus Syndrome with brachial plexus nerve entrapment in middle and post heads of it.
Line of treatment-
As the pain is recurring and persistent even after 3 months, I would suggest you to assess the shoulder pain from your doctor team as suggested above.
Only after its evaluation of cause of such shoulder pain, it would be ideal to treat it as may be needed and suggested from Surgeon and Neuro-Vascular Surgeon if need be.
