What Causes Pain In Tailbone?
Question: my tailbone has been hurting lately. the pain radiates from my tailbone to the buttocks, lower legs and lower back. this week I was very constipated. I took magnesium citrate on Thursday to relieve the constipation, but I still have the pain on my tailbone. it is very uncomfortable to sit for long periods of time. could this be caused from straining due to constipation?
Brief Answer:
hi
Detailed Answer:
Yes it could be due to straining that can cause anal fissures but also it can be some other perianal disease such as abscesses, fistula or hemorrhoids. Also it may be treated to lumbar spine ischialgia. I suggest to use stool softerners, eat high fibre food, drink more fluids, have sitz baths and see will there be improvement.if not, then you should see proctologist for further treatment.wish you good health. Regards
