What Causes Pain In The Buttock Radiating To The Leg?
Can be a mild nerve root compression.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the buttock radiating to the leg can be due to a mild nerve root compression at the lower lumbar spine or sacral area.
Some other underlying causes like Sciatica, Spondylitis, Lumbar herniated disc, Degenerative disc disease, Isthmic spondylolisthesis etc should be ruled out through clinical examination and radiological investigation (like X- ray, CT scan, Myelogram, MRI etc). Kindly, consult with Orthopedic surgeon regarding this for proper management of the case.
The following measures will help with the pain
• Lie on a hard bed.
• Anti -inflammatory drugs like Tablet Motrin 1 tablet as and when required ( do not repeat a dose before 6 hours) with food will help relieve the pain.
• Correct your posture while sitting
• Avoid prolonged sitting
• Avoid strenuous activity & lifting heavy weights.
• Apply diclofenac gel on the affected area. Warm compresses will also help.
I hope this answers your query.

Blood clot not likely.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The possibility of blood clot is very low. A blood clot is more commonly associated with pain along with swelling and the pain gets aggravated with walking. Do get a proper examination done for treatment.
