What Causes Pain In The Chest Worsening With Deep Breath?
Question: I woke up with pain right in the center of my chest--where the bone in between my breasts are. If I take a deep breath or bend over, it hurts. If I don't move, it doesn't hurt. I took aspirin and after an hour and fifteen minutes that relieved the pain for about five hours, but after a couple of hours it returned. I don't have shortness of breath. I have been fighting a cold and coughing a lot. This pain started early this morning.

Needs work up and management
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in the chest with worsening on deep breath or bending over with no prior history of heart issue is still worth an examination and ekg to rule out heart involvement. Once ruled out, other possibilities are less worrisome and more likely your case of gastric discomfort, gastritis, costochondritis or any other musculoskeletal pain. Just go to ER< have an EKG if that comes normal. then all you would need will be some nexium, tylenol , skelaxin and rest.
I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
