What Causes Pain In The Feet And Leg While Lying In Bed?
Question: My husband's feet hurt badly after he goes to bed. He says it does not throb, just hurts like you mashed your finger and it just keeps on hurting.
Sometimes his legs hurts also in the same way.

Thank you for posting the query.
Such type of feet pain is usually associated with neuropathy. At this age, such neuropathies are quite common and are a result of vitamin deficiencies or other co-morbid conditions like Diabetes, Hypertension etc (please let me know if he has any).
Neuropathy means inflammation of the nerves. This causes very bad pain, sometimes associated with burning sensations. This neuropathy usually starts in the feet and gradually progresses upwards to cause pain even in legs.
Anti inflammatory tablets, analgesics, with multi-vitamin supplements will be helpful.
Fruits and green leafy vegetables rich in vitamin B6 and B12 and vitamin E should be consumed in more proportions.
Local analgesic gels should be applied to the painful parts followed by hot fomentation. Keep the legs elevated over pillow during sleep.
