What Causes Pain In The Knee Joint With Swelling?
MRI is better then CT for knee examination
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Pain in knee joint with swelling is mostly due to synovitis or arthritis. As you said that condition is not improving even after physio then you need to get a fresh MRI. Till you get MRI done I have following suggestions for you.
1.Avoid squatting and sitting cross leg.
2.Hot water fomentation and volini gel local application.
3.Injection of Synvisc can be given. It is better then steroids and it has less side effects.
4.You can send your MRI report to me. I can offer you some more info after that.
5.Take Calcium and D 3 regularly. Bone strength improvement will also decrease pain.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
I can't fully bend my knee or cross legs as causes discomfort.
Muscle strength is weak.
They said no sign of arthritis .
They keep saying muscles have been pushed to the extreme when I had the eurowave. Which is a furradic machine. Similar to tens machine. If that makes sense. What would show the muscle damage more. I did wonder about ultra sound if no to ctscan thanks
No ultrasound or CT is not good for muscles
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Your symptoms are suggestive of knee arthritis. I do not think that this is due to muscle wasting. It can be early cartilage damage so x rays may be normal. A fresh MRI will prove the diagnosis. Ultrasound is not a good test for it. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
