What Causes Pain In The Leg And Thigh?

Question: I am visiting with my grandkids in another State (Virginia) and won't be home until Sunday! I have osteopenia of the left leg (hip/knee/lower leg). I have been taking Advil but it has stopped working. I have severe pain in the upper thigh (front/back) and knee (front/back). I went swimming with the kids but exercising the leg in the water did not get rid of the pain. What can I do until I get back to Michigan. I am 82 years old and want to have as much time with my grandkids as i CAN! Please advise
Brief Answer:
You need to apply hot water and knee cap
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Pain in leg and thigh is mostly due to knee arthritis and osteopenia. I would suggest you following.
1.Avoid squatting and sitting cross leg.
2.Hot water fomentation
3.Compression bandage or knee cap can be applied.
4.Take Brufen or tramadol. These are better then Advil.
5.Injection of steroid can be given in knee joint.
6.For osteopenia you can use calcitonin nasal spray.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
