Detailed Answer:
Hi i am Dr Ahmed Aly
thanks for using HealthcareMagic site ,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..
In my opinion you may have a kind of muscular spasm or sciatica due to nerve compression , i hope you feel better soon . in most of cases it may subside simultaneously with resting and even without medications .
Try to avoid heavy lifting , over weighing , vigorous movements , bad sleeping or sitting postures . Physiotherapy , spinal straightening exercises , stretching exercises , hot massages and even yoga is helpful .
For my patients i recommend painkillers ( NSAIDs ) like tylenol 400 mg tabs when needed , hot massaging with topical anti-inflammatory gels , B12 vitamin supplements , muscle relaxants will be effective in most of cases . in more severe and chronic cases steroid tabs or injections are prescribed if required .
If pain persists i recommend X rays and MRI scans to exclude any spinal injuries , discs or herniation and follow them up with your neurologist for proper evaluation and management .
