What Causes Pain In The Lower Left Abdomen?

default
Posted on Thu, 25 May 2017
Question: I woke up this morning with a dull pain in my left lower abdomen, as the day has gone on it has steadily gotten worse, especially when I have pants on and it sometimes seems to creap up higher in my abdomen but still on the left side. I put some sweat pants on and it feels a little relief but is steady and still there. Any ideas what it might be or what I should do? It is way low like I said and sometimes I can feel a dull pain in my back also but is mostly in front on left.

to answer your questions: NO to #1, #2, and #3 and YES to #4. Also, can I buy PPI's at my local pharmacy or do I need a prescription? Thanks for your quick response, appreciate it!!

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back with the answers and further doubts.
Happy to help you...

Well, let me answer to all your points,

1. Good that the others are NO.

2. Alcohol intake recently can be responsible for Gastritis.
But, if the pain is intolerable, it can be sometimes due to Pancreatitis which is inflammation of Pancreas.

3. But as of now, please take PPI as mentioned and observe how you stay.
Yes, they should be available (eg. Prilosec) to you over the counter...

Hope I have cleared your doubts.
In case you need further assistance, please let me know.

Take care and wish you quick recovery.
