Posted on Fri, 11 Nov 2016
Question: After moving patio furniture I felt a pain in lower abdomen right side. I have no other symptoms. Bowl and urine normal. Eating normal. I have watched it for one week. It gets better than worst after activity. I am otherwise a healthy 62 year old male. I think it's a muscle strain?

Brief Answer:
yes,it might be some muscular strain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

I have read your query and understand your concern.

The fact that you have shared here, your right lower abdomen pain might be indicative of some muscular origin like muscle strain or pull.

Any strained muscle when stretched gives severe pain, so this could be because of muscular origin, the first possibility we should think at present. Also,it does not seem to be concerned much here since bowel and bladder habits are normal.

So,I would suggest you to continue same symptomatic treatment like rest and over the counter Tylenol for relief.

Diclofenac based topical ointment can also be helpful.

You may wait for another couple of days for the pain to subside, however in case if pain persist longer I would suggest you to check ultrasound abdomen to rule out underlying problem.

Regards,
