Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, it is most likely muscular as kidney is located just below the end of rib cage at the back on lateral sides and it's pains isn't just niggling but of more severe nature.

Your history is suggestive of likelihood of muscle cramp or stretch and will be relieved hopefully within matter of few days. Just refrain from lifting heavy weights and bending forward for long or using inappropriate posture while sitting. Using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen and muscle relaxants like orphenidrine or tizanidine will help.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
