What Causes Pain In The Lower Right Leg?

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Aug 2017
Question: I have a pain in my lower right leg. It looks like there is a bite there, but it has been sore for about 3 days. If I walk or stretch the leg the pain diminishes. If I sit or lay down it intensifies.

Brief Answer:
Please kindly provide some more details and a photo.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question.

Can you please provide some more information about your problem so I make sure that I have understood it right so I can give accurate advises.

Where is the pain localized- in all your leg or only to the place where you notice the bite sign?
How can you describe the pain?- like a sore? Sharp to one specific place that you can point exactly?
Can you please upload a photo of the the area where you notice the bite? - I want to see if the area around there is inflamed, swollen, and how does the bite are look like. You can upload the photo from the report section in this page.
Do you notice any swelling of the right leg more then the left leg?
Do you have varicose veins?
Have you had problems with your joints in that leg before? Of fractured it? or any other problems?

The more information you give me, more helpful I can be to you.

Looking forward to your follow up question.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako

The pain is local to the bite area, not the whole leg. I do suffer from diabetic nerve pain. There is some itching in the reddened area.

The leg is not swollen. No fractures, no vericose veins.

The pain is more like a deep ache. There are no lumps beneath the surface of the skin. No problem with joints.

I have uploaded two photos.

Brief Answer:
Inflammation of the tissues in that area.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I reviewed your photos.
Thank you for the information too.

It looks to me like there is a mild inflammation of that area caused maybe by what looks like a bite or maybe a small wound too which you do not remember how it happened.

I would recommend to use a triple antibiotic cream locally, 3 times/day for 5-7 days.
It should start getting better within 24 hours.
If not better, then you will need to see a local doctor because if would mean that the infection may be spreading and you will need oral antibiotics.

Continue with the stretching if it helps it.

Let me know if you have other questions or concerns.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako
