default
Posted on Mon, 28 Aug 2017
Question: for the last four nights I've woken multiple times throughout the night with my right arm asleep and in a lot of pain. I have had to wake up completely and stretch it out and move it around and it takes about half an hour for it to subside enough to go back to sleep. what could be causing this.

Brief Answer:
Compression on nerves or blood vessels most likely

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HealthcareMagic.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

There are two most possible conditions, both of them related to improper sleeping position:

1- compression of nerves of the arm (Saturday night palsy)

2- impaired blood supply of the arm due to narrowed blood vessels from compression.

Hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
