What Causes Pain In The Upper Right Breast While Breathing?

Question: hi. when I move or take a big deep breath, it hurts around my right upper breast. I had ct scan and lungs were clear. any thoughts
Brief Answer:
use anti-inflammatory drugs
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM
I can understand your concern
If chest CT is clear this is a good sign that there's not any lung diseases that cause this pain.
Than muscle contraction might be another cause or sometimes fibromialgias cause this kind of pain too.
For this if you were my patient i would recommend you to use anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibrufen twice orally for one or two weeks and we will wait the results. I believe you will feel better.

thanks. I was diagnosed with esophagitis awhile back and had endoscopy done in January. they said it cleared up but I am on omeprazole 40mg a day. can I still take anti inflammatory pills? Also since I had this, can this be causing the pain I am having on right side? I have to agree that it may be muscle related. I also have neuropathy. I am not sure if this would contribute to the pain in upper right side chest. thanks

Hi again
According to the history you explain yes esophagitis might be the cause of this pain and in this condition anti-inflammatory drugs don't help so much. Continue Omeprazol for up to a month. And paracetamol tablets may be another choice added to PPI and without damage the gastrointestinal tract
I don't either think that neuropathy cause this discomfort.
Hope this info helps you
