What Causes Pain In Upper Middle Back While Sleeping?
Question: Hi Doc , I get pain in my upper middle back while sleeping. When I walk and sit its fine but it gets activated only after sometime when I sleep. pls advise.

Before answering your question I want to ask some questions from you also-
Is there any history of trauma, fever, weight loss or any other symptoms other then back pain?
In my opinion you should consult a neurologist and get your examination and investigation done to rule out the cause.
There are so many causes for your problem but in my opinion there are three possibilities-
1) Disc degeneration
2) Ankylosing spondylitis
3) Osteomyelitis
Not very common but keep cancer in your mind.
Please revert back to me. I am waiting for your answer.

I had high fever three weeks ago because of throat infection
