What Causes Pain In Upper Stomach Area That Subsidises With Sipping Milk?

default
Posted on Wed, 9 Mar 2016
Question: From time to time, I experience episodes of a dull pain in my upper stomach area that slowly builds. I discovered if I grab a sip of milk, it immediately subsides. It resumes slowly, and so I learned to drink a glass of milk, and eat a few Ritz crackers sometimes, which makes it go away, or vastly decreases any discomfort. Along the way, I notice one or several burps can be unblocked, coming from deep down inside of me than the normal easy burp one gets from a glass of cola for example... This provides an end to the symptoms.

Brief Answer:
Gastric Discomfort ( Acid reflux / Gastritis )

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in epigastrium subsiding with sip of milk is suggestive of gastric discomfort like gastritis. Burping along side make a suspicion of acid reflux GERD too. Treatment of both is almost the same. Modifying diet and lifestyle, eating small frequent meals, reducing spices, stimulants, cola, beverages, alcohol, sweets, chocolates, processed & canned foods, stimulants of all kinds etc. Preferring more fluids and fiber and green vegetables. Delaying lying down after meal.

Apart from it, take some pepto, some sucralfate and if need be some nexium and some gastric motility enhancing medications like metoclopramide and see if it helps.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
