What Causes Pain Near Ribs And Limbs Pain?

Question: Dear doctor,
For the past one week, i had some kind of a pain in the front rib area of my left side below the collar bone near the shoulder joint and sometimes my arm/hand on my left side feels weird pain .The pain is minimal and when I press the rib I could feel the pain. I visited the physician yesterday and did an ECG. It is normal.
They refered me to a ortho and he asked me to apply DFO Gel (dichlofenac) . He said it seems to be a muscle pull. if the pain agravates we will go for further diagnosis.
Health history
I am a regular smoker and have GERD .Taking PAN - D foer nearly 6 years now. I had Vitamin B12 deficiency two months back and i am still on methylcobalamin capsules.
I am worried if I have Lung cancer or TB or cardiac issues.
Medicines Presently :
- Matilda forte
- evion lC
- D Rise sachket (one per month)
- Pan D
- Calicum capsule (do not remember the name)
- DFO gel
Need your guidance.
Regards

Brief Answer:
Get investigations done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Get E.S.R levels,, x-ray chest done and send me the report.
I want to see the present condition of ribs. This will help me rule out cancer and TB and the like.
Till then you could possiblytake aceclofenac + thiocochicoside combination three times a day by prescription of local doctor. This should help with pain.
Apply hot packs for 30 mins in morning and evening.
Do cervical muscle strengthening exercises as uploaded on youtube.
I hope you have got your answer.
Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Do deep breathing exercise.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the response my friend.
I have read your report, you need to quit smoking as early as possible.
Be positive and confident that you can successfully quit.
Realize that tobacco creates a habit on a variable reinforcement schedule
So you must find a strong inner determination to stop smoking.
Choose a specific quit date.
Common way to quit smoking is to find an oral substitute i.e keep other things around to pop in your mouth when cravings hit. Good choices include mints, hard candy, carrot or celery sticks, gum, and sunflower seeds.
Do something that calms you down, such as taking a warm bath, meditating, reading a book, or practicing deep breathing exercises.
If the things still not come under control then I usually prescribe the nicotine replacement therapy. Nicotine patches release a steady stream of nicotine into your bloodstream through your skin, and nicotine gum delivers nicotine through the lining in your mouth. But this option is only possible where you have easy follow up with your doctor.
So you must consult with your family doctor for this.
Atlast I advise you to practice deep breathing. This practice requires that you first notice your breath. While sitting in a quiet place, sit tall and breathe in deeply, allowing your belly to expand as your lungs fill with air.
Pay attention to your diaphragm as it moves up and down with your breathing. Notice how you must push the air from your lungs as you exhale as uploaded on you tube.
Continue this breathing slowly and deeply.
Make it a part of your daily routine and practice breathing whenever you feel stressed.
I hope it helps.
Thanks.
