What Causes Pain Near The Toe Joint?

Question: On the bottom of my foot, 1 inch below my little toe joint is very painful when I get up in the morning. I don't notice much during the day but I hobble every morning.

From what I am understanding it seems like you may have:
- an inflammation of either one of the joints of the foot (check if the tender point falls above a joint)
- or an inflammation of the fascia of the foot (painful when you start walking and then better with the time during the day. Have you been standing (or do you work by standing/walking) a lot during the day?
- Does the skin have any changes above the tender point?
