What Causes Pain, Tightness And Irritation In Lower Back And Hip Area?
Question: I am 57 years old, 6'2", 185 lbs. Good shape, athletic all my life, non-smoker. One year ago I began experiencing sudden 24/7 pain, tightness, irritation in right lower back/hip area. Have tried it all (physio/massage/chiropractor/acupuncture) with varying degrees of relief, but in my mind more of a relieving of the effect than treating the cause. The pain will at times move around (lower back, groin, hip area). At it's best my non-medical mind produces pain with pressure on a small area to the right of and just below the SI joint. General tightness, "ropeyness" of the ligaments/muscles always felt on right side at or near the top of the pelvis/base of the QL muscle area.
NOTE: for some reason some 10 months ago I experienced sudden and complete BACK TO NORMAL for some 45 days - then back to above by simple bending over at waist. Look at spine only some 11 months ago suggested mild enlargement of the mid-lumbar bone spurs. Ultra sound to be conducted next month. Two queries: 1) is it muscle, or nerve, or perhaps both? After all this time and effort, the base tightness/irritation/sometimes pain persists. 2) would a properly reviewed MRI reveal the real problem?
Your time and direction is most appreciated.

Thank you for the prompt response. You say muscular "disease". That of course sounds more long term / challenging, than incident based. Based on what I have outlined, what is the next best step to take to identify the cause, and/or what is the best next step in alleviating the ongoing pain/tightness?
Brief Answer:
disease is a basic term
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Sorry for the confusion. Disease does not mean a challenging, serious thing, it just indicate medical problem in body.
Any way in your situation , I advised you to go for MRI to find out exact problem.
Hope this will help
