What Causes Pain Under The Jaws?
?? Swollen lymph nodes due to infections; salivary gland infections?
Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.
Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. In my opinion there could be 2 possibilities to this:
1. Swollen lymph nodes: Lymph nodes tend to swell up when the body is fighting an infection, and if this region seems to be swelling up very often, it could be because you have been frequently falling ill, is this the case?
2. Submandibular (below the mandible) glands can swell up which is a sign of an infection, requiring antibiotic coverage. Other symptoms include foul taste in the mouth, fever, discomfort, difficulty swallowing, difficulty breathing, etc. (also please note that not all of these symptoms need to be present to suspect this). If this is the case, then please do visit a doctor for further management.
I hope you find my response helpful sir. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.
Best wishes.
Please do let me know if there is anything more I can do to help ma'am
