Question: hey doc i have a red raw nasal passage which is painful

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query and understand your concern.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice you
Saline nasal spray thrice daily to prevent drying & crust formation hence bleeding ,
Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Montelukast combination tab at night to prevent congestion & running nose ,
Tab Vitamin C twice daily to promote healing &
Apply Neosporin ointment twice daily with ear bud over raw nasal area to treat infection .

Don't itch nose or try to remove crusts with fingernail , it will lead to bleeding . Use saline nasal spray to remove crusts .
You will get relief.

what do you think causes this? and is there any other creams I can apply to my nasal passage which is red raw. it sound like there is no easy fix for this and is it a infection?

Hi,
Thanks for the follow up query.

In my opinion , it is because of infection - itching results in finger nail trauma leading to crusting .

You can use ointment ciplox D (ciprofloxacin + dexamethasone ) .

You will need at-least 10 days treatment to fix it .
