What Causes Painful Hands During Pregnancy?
Carpal tunnel syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Congratulations for your pregnancy.
Pain in both hand during night is common during pregnancy.
Main cause of her problem is Carpal tunnel syndrome in which median nerve is compressed. Nerves get compressed due to excess fluid (edema) which is present during pregnancy.
As such there is no specific treatment of her problem but I can give some advices to her to decrease her pain-
1) She can use wrist band or brace during night.
2) She can soak her hand in cold water.
3) She should take vitamin B6 and B- complex supplement and food which are rich in b- complex.
4) She should sleep and sit in proper position.
5) Ask her to use proper fitting bra.
6) She should avoid doing long term writing and computer work.
7) After doctor consultation she can take Tynelol tablet.
8) She can follow physiotherapy exercise also.
I can understand her pain and problem but please follow my advices and continue her pregnancy with good zeal.
Believe me her pain will go away with in few weeks after delivery.
I think I have answered your query. If you have further questions, I will be happy to help you.
Good luck.
