What Causes Painful Itchy Lump In Penile Shaft?

Question: I have a small bruised lump that's painful and itches on the shaft of my penis right where the shaft meets the head. Its got a constant burning itching and piercing pain. I don't recall any injury to it. What could be the cause and how can I heal it.

Hello Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have developed Staphylococcal Infection of hair follicle (Boil ) over shaft of the penis .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem
1) Did you have unprotected sex very recently?
2) Do you burning urination ,discharge from penis etc ?

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefexine along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.along with topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin twice daily.

Ensure to wash your genitals with warm water twice daily.

Those are prescription only drugs. Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician

It should get cured within a week .

Thank you for responding. I don't see any hair as it's right where the shaft meets the head rim. There's no discharge or odor, and no pain when urinating. Its like a sharp pain down the left side of the shaft an nothing on the right side. The pain came from no where like I was fine one minute and the next it was throbbing.

Thanks for follow up .It is necessary that you should see hair there .Follicles are located in the dermis and open up in the epidermis over a surface of the skin .

Consult qualified General Surgeon or Urologist for clinical examination in person to confirm the diagnosis .
