Yes very painful
Brief Answer:
Probably a benign infective/inflammatory lesion.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX! Good afternoon. My regrets for the delay in responding.
From your previous history, pictures attached and the present gradual relief in the size of the swelling, it seems to be an infective/inflammatory swelling. If I were your doctor, I would advise you not to fiddle with it at all, and prescribe you with an anti inflammatory and a broad spectrum antibiotic along with a probiotic and a proton pump inhibitor, which possibly would relieve you completely. However, it might turn into an abscess (unlikely as it is going down slowly) to be diagnosed by a clinical examination. I would not hesitate to refer you to a general surgeon in your area for further specialist management.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts. I wish you an early recovery.
