What Causes Painful, Pus Filled, Red, Swollen Bump Between Urethra And Anus?
Question: Well this is delicate. I have a sore on my skin halfway between my urethra and anus. It was a bump, now it's red, swollen with a yellow head and sore. It doesn't pop when I push on it.
How should I treat it? I've been putting alcohol on it to keep it sterile. Fortunately, waste does not touch it.

Brief Answer:
Can be pus inside, inscision or waiting possible
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient
there could be pus in there which usually needs to be opened up with a small incision, thats what i would usually do as a doctor in your case when it doesn't open up by itself and keeps growing (can be done by a gp or surgeon in local anesthesia). However if one waits there is the possibility for it to open up by itself still. Desinfecting it is a good idea and you keep can keep doing that.
If possible you can also upload a picture so i get a better impression.
Hope this is helping you , if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards

Dr. Von Seckendorff: Attached is the pic. It is getting very painful to sit. Any further treatment or info would be helpful. It's in a bad place where I cannot avoid sitting on it. Do I need antibiotics?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Brief Answer:
Local infection, incision probably best
Detailed Answer:
Dear patient, thank you for the picture,
usually local pus gets out by local small incision. General antibiotics are mostly not necessary. Can still be that it opens up itself. Please see local gp or surgeon to evaluate incision option.
Best regards
