What Causes Painful Red Sores On The Buttocks Area?
Question: I'm having very strange symptoms & not sure what's going on. Friday afternoon, I developed a painful red sore on my bum. It has become worse. Today it is much larger and swollen and feels hard on the head. My husband said it looks like a spiderbite, but I can't think of how I could have been exposed to one. Then the night before last, I felt a lump the size of a marble on the opposite side of the same leg, right along my bikini line. Now today, it is sore. Thirdly, there seems to be another painful lump about 2 inch below the "spiderbite" on my right leg. That one just sprang up last night, and is also sore. Of the three spots, only the "spiderbite" is red and raised up. The other two spots are more internal and are only noticeable by pressing down on them. Any ideas what is going on with me? Thanks
Brief Answer:
cellulitis
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
I am sorry to hear that you are having these areas of swelling on your buttock area. This really sounds like you have cellulitis. This is infection of the skin with possible abscesses. This should be seen by your medical provider right away. You need to be started on antibiotics before the infection spreads any further. I recommend seeing your provider today and if not then an urgent care or ER would be a possibility. Please do nto wait as this will not get better without treatment..
