What Causes Painful Sensitive Spot Above Belly Button?

Question: Hello, I am 26 years old and developed pain in my abdomen approximately 1 inch above my belly button about 10 years ago. The pain came randomly one day and felt like someone had just stabbed me. After a couple days the pain decreased but no means ever went away. I had never had any issue with my bowels prior to this incident and now anytime I have alcohol or caffeine I notice my stool becomes lose and there is mucus with it as well. Not only that but I usually have to run to the bathroom because it feels like I have lost control of my bowels but after I have a bowel movement it feels like I never got it all out. I have had a ct scan ( done 2 ways) ultrasounds, blood tests, a colonoscopy, an endoscopy, allergy tests, and my gallbladder was removed . I was told it was excess stomach acid and was prescribed medicine for that but it was not helpful.
Brief Answer:
Intestinal parasites/ candida/ IBS to rule out.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and I like to know if:
- the diarrhea is still persistent after surgery
- the other symptoms are ongoing without amelioration
You are reporting to have run many tests all within normal range.
If the symptoms are still present further tests are needed to determine the right diagnosis:
- examination of stool for ova/parasites
- culture of feces for candida
- intolerance test
If still everything comes out normal, IBS is to be ruled out.
Hope it was of help!

Hello,
I apologize I forgot to mention that I have had two culture samples, one when I was 16 and one within the last 12 months. Both came back completely normal and they were able to rule out parasites. I do not believe it is IBS because my digestive track is usually fine as long as I stay away from caffeine and alcohol, but the pain above my belly button never goes away. I have also taken intolerance tests as well. I had three breath tests done, lactose fructose and glucose which were all negative.

Brief Answer:
Somatic hypersensitivity...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for providing additional data.
When you drink coffee, its effect is to induce bowel movement due to caffeine content.
The same thing happens when you drink alcohol. When it is consumed in large amounts, the intestines will absorb it quickly and increasing intestinal movement.
If IBS is not confirmed, then, your bowels could be more sensitive than normal. Thus, if you consume any food/drink that will increase bowel movements, the effect will be more notable than in normal subject.
All the best!
