What Causes Painful Swelling Near Jawline And Lump Near Ear After Tooth Filling?
Question: Hi I had a broken tooth in back right side which gave me increased pain that i thought was an infection so my doctor gave me antibiotics for 3 weeks then i went to a dentist who took an xray and told me no infection but large roots that my nerve had rapt around and the tooth next door needed a filling. I got the tooth removed and filling fixed but have had severe pain and swelling in my jaw line into my ear and a lump comes up from my ear down. I am on Lyrica for back nerve problem and i have taken nurofen continuously and iced the area it has continued for 8 days now so i am seeking advice as to what to do thankyou

There can be 2 chief reasons for your problem:-
- either it could be some remaining root stump while extraction.
- it could be infection in adjacent tooth that is restored
To rule out you need to go for x-ray & then get it treated accordingly.
Meanwhile you may take analgesic.

To rule out you need to go for x-ray & then get it treated accordingly.
