What Causes Painful Yellowish Lesion On Lip?
The sore doesn't hurt unless I put oral antiseptic on it. I haven't noticed much in the way or any discharge. I should note that the bottom of my jaw was tender on the side of the sore and that now the gums around my wisdom teeth have a throbbing pain. I have had this for about 5 days now.
Require antimicrobials for clinical recovery.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I understand your query and concern.
As per your symptoms you seem to have Herpes labialis/cold sore which is showing secondary bacterial infection.
This secondary bacterial infection is causing you the jaw tenderness and throbbing tooth pain due to regional lymph nodal involvement.
Such cold sores can sometimes develop in normal individuals due to waxing of local immune mechanisms.
They subside spontaneously without any treatment in majority of cases.
But in presence of secondary bacterial infection, antimicrobials like acyclovir and augmentin are required to hasten clinical clinical recovery.
Please note all the mentioned drugs have to be taken only in presence of strict medical prescription.
Thank you.
