What Causes Palpations Along With Shoulder Pain?
Question: I have palpations(atrial fibrillations?) roughly once a day. These are always accompanied by severe pain in my right shoulder. The palpations stop, the pain disappears instantly.
My cardiologist does not acknowledge this interaction, says it is arthritis, No cure or follow-up.
Any idea?

It's a well known fact that arrhythmia may be accompanied by chest and pectoral region pain.
This is why if you were my patient I would suggest doing the following examinations:
- ECG
- Cardiac ECHO
- Holter monitoring
- Stress test
This will help to find out the right diagnosis for your problems.

It's a well known fact that arrhythmia may be accompanied by chest and pectoral region pain.
This is why if you were my patient I would suggest doing the following examinations:
- ECG
- Cardiac ECHO
- Holter monitoring
- Stress test

It's not recommended to exclude "a priori" the connection between them...

Hi back,
As I mentioned pectoral area cardiac arrhythmia may be accompanied with pectoral region discomfort (in your case is experienced as right shoulder pain). This is why further examinations are needed to prove the relation between arrhythmia and shoulder pain. It's not recommended to exclude "a priori" the connection between them (without doing all the above mentioned examinations).
This is why I strongly recommend to do the above mentioned test which will help to rule in/out any relation between them (arrhythmia and shoulder pain). If the results are negative, your doctor is right and you have nothing to worry. If your doctor refuse to do the mentioned examinations you can still change your doctor.

Unfortunately I don't have a direct link or web articles because this is a professional thing and it's written about in medical textbooks.
However you can find information on the web about the chest pain. In atypical chest pain patient doesn't experience chest pain, but palpitation, shoulder pain, shortness of breath etc.
This is why I still insist to run all the mentioned examinations to exclude cardiac problems.
