What Causes Peeling Of Skin On Fingers After Taking Lamictal?
Question: I took lamictal for only one month and my fingers began peeling during this time, which is supposed to be a side effect, so I quit it. Now, my fingers peel every now and then, even though I am no longer taking the medicine. What is this and what can I do?
Brief Answer:
it is not likely due to lamictal, need evaluation by dermatologist
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us.
Lamictal can cause side effects related to skin. However in that case it will not all be limited to only fingers. It should be generalized all over body. If at all it is side effect it should be stopped after stopping the drug.
Your problem is likely due to some allergy, nutritional deficiency or some kind of dermatitis.
For diagnosis proper examination is needed by dermatologist.
Please consult the skin specialist soon.
Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
