What Causes Pelvic Pain And Constipation After Undergoing A Colonoscopy?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Apr 2019
Question: My wife has been having pelvic pains for at least a year. Everything the doctors have done they say there is nothing wrong. She had a colonoscopy and the scope down her throat. She had ultrasounds, CT's and a systo. She has had a total hesterectomy 40 years ago. A gynocologist found nothing. She has a hard time having bowel movements and usually has to take laxitives to go to the bathroom. She also has several urinary infections. She had a bladder uplift 25 years ago but the pelvic/groin pains have been severely painful in the last year. Intercourse is also painful. The pelvic pains are so painful she can hardly walk at times. I don't think it is all in her head so outside of that what are your thoughts?

Brief Answer:

Possible Pudendal nerve entrapment (PNE)

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

"As" per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -

1) Do a clinical examination by your family doctor and to confirm it do [Electromyography]

2) Discuss with your physiotherapist for a specific exercise plan and discuss with your Doctor about prescription medication for nerve pain like [Gabapentin]

3) If the above method failed to solve your problem then you can discuss about [Pulsed radiofrequency]

For prevention, you can do to avoid prolonged sitting, cycling, or constipation and do regular pelvic floor exercise.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
