Question: I have been having periodic wheezing / dry coughs. A feeling of chest congestion. This mainly happens at night. What could this be due to ?

Brief Answer: It may be due to asthma or allergy Detailed Answer: Hello Wheezing with dry cough is mostly likely due to an early asthma or bronchitis and you will have to meet your chest physician for confirming this . Asthma and allergy are strongly related and go hand in hand , so the cough may also represent an allergic reaction to something specially cold air, or some chemicals in your pillow. You will have to meet an allergy specialist to discuss this, he will ask you to do some allergic and blood tests and may ask you to take a chest xray for confirming the diagnosis. Please dont worry as asthma can easily be controlled in the early stages and i would like you to meet your allergy doctor or chest physician as soon as possible. Meanwhile you can try yoga , specially pranayama and also take steam inhalation 2-3 times a day. it will help Take care
