What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pain And Constipation?
Question: Good Morning. Am having possible gas pains and need to move the bowels; am not constipated. In addition when sitting feel uncomfortable with "feeling" in pelvic (*prostate?) area. Have had IBS; have had Prostate Biopsy twice, both negative; have had colonoscopies, five, am lactose intolerant and 80 years of age. Condition appeared two days ago after eating Mexican food and drinking one glass of (Mexican) watermelon drink. Try to eat fibrous foods, lots of cereal but not large quantities of anything. Always worried, Thanks!
Problem began as bloating in lower abdomen, at noon today it will have lasted 48 hours. Have expelled gas which diminishes distension in lower abdomem. Today not much gas but still need to move bowels or pass gas. Thanks; Still worried (as usual). Just to be complete, please: The "Mexican meal with watermelon drink" consumed last Saturday at noon was taken in XXXXXXX Fe, NM, and not Old Mexico. Still feel bloated but wanted to mention all conditions. Again, Many thanks,

Brief Answer:
This is probably caused by food intolerance. Will resolve spontaneously!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for this query.
I have reviewed this information fully. Your symptoms are consistent with food intolerance. This happens when we try food stuffs we are not very familiar with. As the food progressively gets eliminated from the body, all will return to normal. There is no need for any specific interventions at this time. Continue eating your regular meals and drinking much fluids. All will be fine.
I hope this helps and reassures you that there is nothing totally bad going on. If you have any further worries, feel free to ask for more information and clarifications.
