What Causes Persistent Abdominal Pressure In An Elderly Person?

Question: I'm a 63-year-old female with no major physical problems. I have pressure in my lower abdomen, which I at first took for a UTI. However, I don't have the urge to urinate frequently. Last night, a bowel movement completely relieved these symptoms but they're back today. Can this still be a bladder infection, or should I make further inquiries? It seems to be somewhat related to gas. There hasn't been any pain. Can you tell what this might be? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Possibly related with bowel gases or constipation, rather than with urine
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
What you are describing seems more related with the bowel than with urinary bladder.
My recommendation would be to try to drink lots of water these days, eat a healthy diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, avoid sodas or drinks that may enhance gas in the bowel, ect.
If it is a urinary tract infection, the symptoms will be very clear soon. But meanwhile you are covering the bowel and the urinary bladder by drinking water.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if you need more clarifications .
