Hello XXXX,

Going by your symptom of sharp pain bellow the belly button, I need to know your problem in detail to help you further. Is it associated with fever and vomiting?
Did you take spicy food a day or two before this?

Also can i know your last menstrual Period date, and the duration of menstruation along with any complaints of pain during menstruation - to rule out any gynaecological problems.

Do you have any burning sensation during micturition?

If the pain is continous and aggravating you need to consult a physician as they may recommend :
Antispasmodic medications like mefenamic acid.

Kindly reply back with more details so that we can help you better.

Brief Answer:
Most probably pain is due to ovulation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for replying back with the required details.

Since your Last menstrual period was on 5th XXXXXXX 16 so it is quite possible that this is the ovulation time (12-16th day of menstrual cycle). Pain in the suprapubic area can occur during this time as the egg is getting released from the ovary during which a very minute amount of blood is released from the ovary which can cause irritation of the abdomen.
It is advisable to consult a physician for analgesics like :
1. Ibuprofen (200mg) mild dose thrice a day - ibuprofen 200mg is available over the counter but higher strength needs prescription.

If the pain aggravates or persists more than 1 day then consult a gynaecologist to rule out other causes of pelvic pain for which an ultrasound scan of the abdomen and pelvis may be helpful.

Hope your query was answered.

Brief Answer:
contraceptives can cause pelvic pain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Very low dosage of estradiol (contraceptive pills) can cause pelvic pain ,however usually after intercourse or can result in chronic pain.
Constipation can also give rise to this along with bloating sensation of abdomen.
If the pain continues longer, you can consult a physician for :
1. Ultrasound scan - abdomen and pelvis (non invasive)
2. Lactulose syrup can be taken to relieve constipation.

Make sure you eat adequate diet in your food along with good quantity of water to prevent constipation.
