What Causes Persistent Bleeding From The Arm While On Trandolapril?
Question: Hi, I take and have been taking trandolapril 4MG for years for high blood pressure. Lately I have been taking Aleve for minor back pain as I work outside and do lifting at times landscaping my RV Park. It seems live if I scratch my arm I bleed. It appears my blood must really be thin do to the amount of blood before it cologulates. These are the only medications I take. I take a multi vitamin, vit D, vit C. Thanks you for this service. Brief Answer:
investigation is required
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
bleeding for too long is not normal (if confirmed with tests). If your assumption is correct then investigation is required. The investigation should start with bleeding time (to assess the ability of your blood to form clots), full blood count (to assess the number of platelets) and basic coagulation indices like INR (international normalization ratio) and aPTT (activated partial prothrombin time). Depending on the results, further testing might be required.
The drugs you're taking are probable not related to it even if a disorder is revealed with testing.
Kind Regards!
