Question: My Gynecologist is out of town and I am presenting symptoms of a bladder infection. He has recommended I take AZO for the pain and see him when he get's back. The pain has subsided in the localized area, however, I still have chills and now a mild pain in my kidney region..

Brief Answer:
Another antibiotic might be necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Thank you for the query.

If you have started the antibiotic recently (a day ago) you should wait a while ( next 24h) for the symptoms to disappear.
If you take it for a while now (few days) you may assume that the antibiotic is not effective and the infection could reach the kidney. In such case another antibiotic is necessary. To determine which one urine analysis and urine culture test are necessary.
Otherwise the infection can cause kidney failure.

Hope this helps.
