What Causes Persistent Concentration Issues?

Question: Hi,
I do not have the time to go to the dr office with my work schedule, so one of my coworkers recommended this to me. I have severe issues concentrating & staying on task at work & at home. I have dealt with it for years but the older I get the worse it gets, it is finally starting to take a big effect in my life professionally & socially. What is your recommendation?
Thank you

Could I get a bit more information from you?
What is your age, how long have these symptoms been present, have you ever seen a psychiatrist before?
We will work together to figure this out!

I am 30 years old & have never seen psychiatrist before. They have always been present even as a child but never to severe until now. Like I said it seems the older I get the worse it gets.
Thank you for your time in assisting me!

Thanks for the additional info!
From the information you have provided, I suspect you very likely have ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). While this was traditionally thought of as a childhood disorder, it is now recognized that adults have these symptoms too.
This is typically treated with psychostimulants such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta, or Ritalin.
I recommend seeing a psychiatrist in your area who can prescribe one of these medications, and to titrate the dose to effectiveness for your particular situation.
