What Causes Persistent Dry Mouth And Abdominal Bloating?

both the drugs you mentioned have side effects of dryness in mouth
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Dryness of mouth and throat are common side effects of many drugs which by some mechanism reduce the secretions that occurs in oral mucosa and even of the throat.
Corticosteroids ( methylprednisolone) and metoclopromide ( reglan) have the side effects of dryness of mouth.
I would suggest you to stop one of the drug after consulting your doctor.
What is the reason that your are taking methylprednisolone? Since how many days are you on steroids? What dosage you are taking?
Since when are you taking reglan?
Talk to your doctor about alternative medicines or if they can be stopped.
Also answer my above questions so even I can suggest you change or stoppage of the drugs.
If you have any questions kindly ask me back.
Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for following up with me and answering my questions.
I guess the throat dryness could because of the soreness also. As you are taking reglan as and when required, its unlikely that it will cause side effects.
Usually sore throat is caused by virus and in any viral infection the thirst increases as the fluid is consumed and which inturn makes you feel dry mouth and throat.
We always advuce patients with viral fever or sore throat to keep themselves well hydrated and consume lots of fluids.
I guess its the same for you and you should consume more fluids than you usually take. It also will help to flush out the virus faster as there is no role of antibiotics in viral infection.
So dryness is expected and only treatment on it is symptomatic with increased fluid intake and if possible drink hot beverages and take steam inhalation. It shoudl give you symptomatic relief.
I hope I have answered your query well.
If you have any questions kindly ask me back will be happy to answer them.
Thank you
