What Causes Persistent Itching In Nipples?
Question: I am a 73 year old male experiencing persistent itching in both nipples. Sometimes the itching spreads to general breast area, but most consistently at the nipple. YYYY@YYYY

Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
There can be various causes for itch in both nipples.
It cold be an eczema or reaction to chemical irritants from soap or laundry detergents or allergy to some thing or a fungal infection and very rarely it could be a sign of breast cancer.
What to do....
Wash your nipples with plain water only and don't apply any soap
Wash your clothes with mild detergents and double rinse your clothes with plain water to filter away residual soap.
Apply local .5% hydrocortisone cream twice a day on your nipples.
Don't use any other cream or lotion on nipples
Wait for few days and see the response.
If you find no relief or if your problem increases,then it would be better to consult a dermatologist for his opinion and relevant investigations and treatment.
