Posted on Wed, 9 Dec 2015
Question: I am still taking vitamin B & D, using creams and I have previously used anti-histamines. But I am not showing any improvement, my mouth still feels as though I have burnt it from hot tea and I have some body itching.

Brief Answer:
Kindly consult a physician for multivitamin injections

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thank you for writing to us at health care magic. This is Dr.Riyanka Chail glad to be answering your query.

Going by your symptoms i suggest that kindly visit a physician for tests like :
Complete haemogram to rule out anemia as such symptoms can be seen in anemia.
Along with this a liver function test would be helpful to approach the right diagnosis.

Since you have been taking vitamin B tablets from 5days and still not finding benefit i suggest kindly consult a physician for Multivitamin injection shots in case the deficiency is severe.Along with this kindly take chewable vitamin C tablets daily for three months.

In the mean time an over the counter mouth rinse containing local anaesthetics can be used for symptomatic relief.

Along with this a balanced nutritious diet rich in fruits and vegetables is essential. Drink good quantities of water.

Also, i would like to know if you are a smoker or not or consumed tobacco in any form?
Have you been taking medications for any other problems as sometimes medications can also cause such symptoms.

Hope this answered your query.

Thank your for your suggestions. For the record: I am not a smoker, never been. I do have a 'healthy' diet. I would be surprised if it reflects a vitamin deficiency. A liver function test may be appropriate.

Brief Answer:
please get a haemogram with peripheral blood smear and a LFT done

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,

Thank you for writing back.

I did take a note of the fact that you take a healthy diet.
In that case a complete haemogram with peripheral blood smear plus a liver function test (LFT) should guide us to a diagnosis.
