default
Posted on Wed, 14 Dec 2016
Question: Thank you for taking my question, several years ago I had a bout with religion, at that time things seemed to go into a daze for me,and the pressure in my head became almost unbearable at times, it seemed as it was the only thing I could think about, but as the years have passed things got better although the head pressure remains maybe lot with the same intensity. although when i concentrated on religious things the pressure get worse. My doctor gave me clonazePAM 0.5 which helped (although I think it was for the anixity) I actually think its a nerve problem. thankyou for any help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

This is not a nerve problem. Instead, this is related to somatic anxiety about religious obsessive thoughts. Klonopin will help treat this very well. Trust your doctor and stick with their treatment plan.

Detailed Answer:
An alternative to Klonopin that would adequately treat this problem is an SNRI medication such as venlafaxine or duloxetine. This would treat the anxiety that is causing these years-long somatic symptoms of anxiety.
