What Causes Persistent Right-sided Abdominal Pain And Soreness During Urination?

default
Posted on Thu, 10 Mar 2016
Question: Hi! As I've written before I've had on and off right sided pain, soreness for about 7 months now on and off. Have had work-up and nothing is wrong. Had this same pain about 8 years ago and had everything from colonoscopy, CAT scan and sonogram. Also had sonogram a few months ago and all was normal. Its really just on right side and feels exacerbated the last 2 days where it but has been persistant for the last month. Strangely enough 4 days ago when i had an upset stomach and only diahreea I had no pain and once it cleared up it came back. My doctors say theres no correlation to that and they still say muscular or IBS. Or part of ovulatuin pain. Its sensitive to touch so they say muscular and also when i urinate or bowel movement it feels sore at times. Stool
Culture all normal aa well. Any thoughts? Thanks

Brief Answer:
Small intestine narrowing can act like that.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

I still insist that you should try contraceptive pills to rule out (or confirm) menstrual pain. Without it, its going to be very hard to move forward.
Sometimes small intestine narrowing or invagination can act like that. The pain appears and when the stool passes the obstacle, diarrhea appears and the pain is gone.
To diagnose small intestine problem, special test called CT enteroclysis has to be done (its much different than regular CT).
But still, menstrual pain seems to be the most probable reason. Diarrhea is commonly the sign of IBS.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

Thank you. Is muscular pain out? Now if i do have the narrowing is that a serious condition? Also, certain positions or walking lessons the pain. Can this be indicative of muscular? I really appreciate ur assistance

Brief Answer:
Muscular pain is hardly possible.

Detailed Answer:
In that area, muscular pain is usually the rarest reason of the pain. It should disappear when lying down. And it never causes diarrhea.
Narrowing is not a serious condition. Especially if it lasts so long. Serious conditions do not last that long without any serious complications. So yours is rather chronic, but not serious.
Small intestine narrowing however, requires surgery to fix it. But this is just a theory. It must be confirmed with the test.
Abdominal pain caused by some other than muscular reasons can also be more or less intense when changing position.
