What Causes Persistent Spotting During Pregnancy?
Question: Hi,
I have had regular spotting in my pregnancy (now nearly 10 weeks). This week I have experienced spotting (not heavy enough to stain my underwear, just when I go to the bathroom). This past week I experienced thrush and used a canestan pessary to treat it. Since then I have been experiencing spotting/bleeding of a pinkish colour. Again it is not heavy and not really staining my underwear. I went to my Ob yesterday and he conducted an ultrasound which showed that my cervix was closed and that the baby was measuring 9 weeks and 6 days (I was 9 weeks and 5 days). He could see and hear the heartbeat and could see the baby actively moving.
Is it likely that this bleeding is indicating an impending miscarriage, or it it unlikely to be associated with a miscarriage?
Many thanks

Brief Answer:
No possibility of miscarriage
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns about possibility of miscarriage.
The spotting you are experiencing is not related to miscarriage. This spotting is probably because of thrush you have.
Your ultrasound examination is excellent. Hence I don't see any possibility of miscarriage.
Let me know if you need any more clarifications.
